CHAM 2025 Conference

CHAM Asset Management Conference 2025 Highlights

From June 9–11, 2025, more than 600 asset management professionals gathered in New Orleans for CHAM’s largest and most dynamic conference to date. With attendees traveling from across the country, 67 generous sponsors, and a program packed with forward-thinking sessions, mobile tours, and peer learning, the CHAM Conference was a powerful reflection of the momentum building across the field.

CHAM-ConferenceThe week kicked off with two full pre-conference trainings and mobile tours, setting the tone for hands-on learning and real-world exploration.

    • Property and Liability Insurance: Take Control of Your Insurance Program hosted by Tracy Pride EVP, Director of Client Services, IMA and Brendan Dolan Vice President – Insurance, Housing Partnership Network, equipped attendees with essential tools, foundational knowledge, and examples that brought key concepts to life.
    • AI-Enabled Asset Management: A Hands-On Introduction to GPTs, led by Anne Hollander of The Strategic Edge, demystified artificial intelligence and offered practical ways asset managers can use AI tools today. One participant shared: “This session helped me get over my hesitation about jumping into AI. I feel much better equipped to dive in now.”

Our mobile tours gave attendees a firsthand look at the depth and diversity of New Orleans’ affordable housing landscape. From the preservation work at Grove Park to the high-quality historic rehabs, participants experienced local resilience and innovation in action. “This was a great way to see the range of housing types and hear the stories behind them.”  Special thanks to Providence Community Housing and Enterprise Community Partners for curating an insightful, well-organized tour experience.

CHAM-Conference-1wOn Tuesday, June 10 we officially opened the conference with the Housing Policy Update Plenary, discussing the most pressing issues shaping our work. And closed with the Preservation by Innovation Plenary, spotlighting stories of resilience, forward-thinking solutions, and the collaborative power of mission-driven leadership.

Throughout the two days, the heart of the conference unfolded in dozens of sessions designed to spark action and inspire new approaches. Build Your Bench 2.0 offered tactical insights on recruitment, team-building, and succession planning, complete with breakout conversations and tools attendees could bring directly back to their teams. “Loved all the ideas on how to make our team stronger. I can’t wait to bring these back to my team.” Other highlights included the engaging panel Positioning Your Property for Year 15 and Beyond, featuring a clear, informative case study on long-term asset planning, and Optimizing Asset Management Teams for Performance and Impact, which offered practical frameworks and diverse perspectives from both property management and syndication experts.

Each session was intentionally designed to reflect CHAM’s intention, lifting up new voices, encouraging cross-sector collaboration, and centering strategies that advance affordable housing preservation. A heartfelt thank you to our Conference Committee and session leads who worked alongside us to shape an impactful program.

What made CHAM 2025 special wasn’t just the content, it was the community. Affordable housing professionals and asset managers reconnected with longtime peers, built new relationships, and discovered tools they could bring straight back to their organizations. As one attendee put it, “This is truly the only conference where affordable housing asset managers can connect, learn, and lead together.”
